Hook-up & Lead Wire

Hook-up and lead wires are used for low current, low voltage (under 1000V) connections in an electrical or electronic circuit. Typically, hook-up wire is 12 AWG or smaller. To prevent current leakage, hook-up and lead wire is insulated with a variety of thermoplastic and rubber materials – such as neoprene polyethylene (PE), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), or polypropylene. Hook-up and lead wires are often resistant to oils, acids, alkalis, flame and moisture.
Hook Up and Lead Wire Applications
Hook-up and lead wires are used in a variety of applications – including computers and data processing equipment, appliances, lighting, motor leads, heating and equipment, automotive and business machines.
