Portable Cord & Mining Cables
Portable cord, also known as flexible cord, is cable with multiple conductors used for functions requiring flexibility and weather resistance in industrial, commercial or residential applications. Texcan’s product selection includes Ultraflex cords, which are designed to withstand extreme temperatures and have an arctic grade jacket for easier handling.
Mining cable is also weather resistant, but is specifically customized for the mining market; it is designed to resist sunlight, water, extreme temperature, chemical, oil and abrasion, while also performing reliably in tough drilling environments. The voltage range for mining cable is between 600V and 35KV.
Mining and Portable Cord Applications
Portable cords provide power for a variety of applications, including operating motors in large tools, equipment, power extensions, appliances and machinery. They are commonly used in construction sites, mills, mines, and sport complexes, as well as marinas because of their strong resistance and durability. One of the mining cables, Type SHD-GC, is specifically designed for use as heavy duty trailing cable on mining equipment where maximum safety is required, and for high voltage distribution in underground mines.
