Rig & Sheathed Cable

Rig cable is designed to perform reliably and withstand harsh and demanding environments, ranging from extreme sub-zero temperatures in the coldest regions to fire emergencies at the highest temperatures. Rig cables have a flexible construction, soft annealed tin copper conductors, as well as flame retardant thermoset polyolefin (XLPO) insulation that allows for higher ampacity levels and reduced physical size. Rig cables and wires are also available in armored and sheathed.
Rig and Sheathed Cable Applications
Rig and sheathed cable is primarily used in applications for offshore, land rigs, marine vessels and oil and gas drilling rigs. It is sunlight, moisture and mud oil resistant, and it has strong resistance to mechanical abuse. Texcan stocks a variety of power, control, signal and instrumentation rig cables – including Polyrad cables that are IEEE 1580 Type P, and Type TC rated. They are also temperature rated at 125°C for long life, higher ampacities and protection from thermal overloads.
